In one week by baby will turn one. It is hard to believe that last year at this time I was pregnant still, but it is also hard to believe she is already a year old. In one year Arora has learned to hold her head up, roll over, crawl, stand, and is so close to walking. Arora has learned to point to things she wants, wave, and sign "more". She has a favorite book "Wake up sleepy bear" and a favorite bear named Emmit. She has two bottom teeth and has one more coming in right now. Arora loves to play hide and seek, and to have tummy tickles.
I have been thinking about what being "one" will bring to our life. I am so glad that I choose to nurse Arora. It has been a great way to bond with her and I am sad at thinking that we will end our nursing relationship soon. I am going to slowly try out dairy products over the next month and see show she take it. Then slowly and see if she( and I) am ready to end nursing. I will not be sad to stop nursing at night. I think it might be adding to her bad sleeping habits.

You know you don't have to quit nursing if you don't want to! I've heard that nursing toddlers are better behaved and happier, not to mention healthier. I plan to nurse for at least two years, but I'd like to go even longer than that. I also just learned what I had suspected all along...small children aren't meant to sleep through the night--they are supposed to be light sleepers until they are 2 or 3. Just thought I'd toss those tidbits of info your way before you make the weaning decision.
