ear infection # ?

Arora is sick again. wow is that even news anymore, we had to take her to the urgent care out here this morning, temp 102.5, and 2 ear infections. now she will have a 14 day course of Augmentin. The doctor strongly suggested tubes for her ears. We will see about it when we get back to Idaho.

edit: we just got home from the pharmacy and they will not take our insurance, so we had to pay $150 for her medicine, uhh.

Rowan has had 7 ear infections in the last 10 months, and I keep hoping the dr. suggests tubes for his ears, but he hasn't.
Hope she is feeling better soon.

Hey, I somehow got linked to your blog :o) Have you considered food allergy? Ear infections are common signs of a food allergy. Just something to think about if you haven't. My little family seems to have every allergy! Ha. Good luck!

Holly- that stinks. I hope my adorable little niece feels better soon. Tell her I say hello and that will probably make everything better. (I wish.) Too bad about the health coverage. I hope it's not like that the whole time you're in Oregon!

$150! That sucks! So does having a double ear infection, wow. Any idea why she gets sick so much? How stressful.

Michael is sick, too, but no ear infection that we know of (I count my blessings!).

I'm so sorry that you have to pay so much just for an ear infection. I'm a little bit disaapointed with our country's health benefits and all that stuff. I know that the right people in the government can come up with a better solution for better health coverage. (sigh...)
I'm sorry that Arora's sick again. Let me know I can be of any help. love you

I think she is not getting re-sick, but still has the same ear infection from months ago. the medicine make is mostly go away so she seems better. then it just comes back. I really hope this is the last set of antibiotics, I do not want to be misusing antibiotics.

So sorry. I know tubes can really help a lot of the time. Hope everything gets better real soon. You are in our prayers. What insurance do you have that makes you pay that much? Yikes!

I would go to her pediatrician and get a referral to an allergist, it's the easiest way to find out. However, it's also pretty spendy. We just did trial and error results with our kids. We noticed within days or eliminating foods whether or not it was the trigger. Although I think they say 3 weeks is the correct testing time, not sure on that though. I think most commonly milk and wheat for ear infections, but that's just what I've heard, I could be wrong! Good luck!! Let me know what you find out, i'm very curious!

And why in the world would a pharmacy not take your insurance?? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Have you contacted your insurance to have them reimburse you? I hope so, no one can afford $150 for meds!

Ya, I thought you said Idaho Medicaid would work in Oregon!! How lame!
