Arora goes to nursery

In our church toddlers can go to the nursery to play and learn at 18 months old. I have been waiting for Arora to be old enough for months. It was hard to keep her happy through 3 hours of church with just one bag of toys. She did fairly well but it was impossible to pay attention in my lessons. Last week she was getting very noisy and David decided to take her to the nursery to try it out. She did great! She played nice and sat still for the lesson. Even though she is a little young ( 17m) they said she could start coming because she was so good. So yesterday I took her to nursery, she went in like it was nothing . SO many of the other kids were clutching their parents and crying, or running around like hooligans. After church was over. the nursery leader,Sister Pass, said she has never seen such a young child be so well behaved!! OH Yeah!! I must be doing something right as a parent!

That is so cool! We had the hardest time getting Carson to go and finally they just put me in there with him. Yeah for Arora.

Isn't it the best? The only problem we've had though, is she gets beat up by the nearly 3 year old boys going crazy :) I thought they were supposed to split them up if there were too many, but last time we took Mady there were like 20 kids crammed in. I'm so glad Arora did so well!! We also found it to be getting difficult to keep Mady happy the whole time! I love the pic, she's such a little lady now!

That's so good to hear! I just got released after a year in my ward nursery. Arora having a good experience is definitely something to be happy about, but toddlers are full of surprises and you can't count on them to always do great in nursery. Celebrate the successes, though! :)

I love the word "hooligan"! Yeah, Arora!

How great! I hope Michael behaves like that when he goes to nursery! Luckily I'll probably still be working in the nursery when he goes, so I don't have to worry about the crying thing.

I am sure that one or two of those "hooligans" were my children. I am glad she likes nursery. Matthew is still having issues. Oh well! Sister Pass and Sister Wilson are great

I agree with Stephanie that the nursery leaders in the Oregon Trail Ward are great!
The first Sunday that I took Arora to nursery, I stayed there with her to see how she did. She was a little clingy at lesson time, but once play time hit, she couldn't have cared less that I was there!
By the time the next Sunday came around, Sis. Pass told me I could just go ahead and leave her there
"...and it's just been bliss ever since!!"
